Dr. Iversen strives to understand the entire picture of a patient’s condition and offer her expertise to improve the patient’s physical condition as well as other factors which could be playing a role in their healing. What is Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R)?
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) is a medical specialty that deals with the treatment of individuals with various medical conditions. PM&R is also known as physiatry, and PM&R physicians are also known as physiatrists. PM&R physicians have a broad knowledge of numerous conditions which can affect multiple body systems involving the brain, nerves, muscles, spine, bones, joints and overall function of the body. PM&R physicians are especially interested in function and helping the individual achieve their highest function. They are experts in all types of rehabilitation, and work closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists, as well as other rehabilitation professionals.

About Dr. Iversen
Dr. Sasha R. Iversen, D.O., FAOCPMR, FAAPMR, CLCP, CPLCP

Dr. Iversen is located in Houston, Texas and has been practicing medicine as a licensed physician in Texas since 2012. She is Board Certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Pain Medicine as well as Integrative & Holistic Medicine. She received her medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2007. She completed her Internship and Residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in 2012 from Nassau University Medical Center located in East Meadow, NY where she served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Iversen is currently involved in Post-Acute Rehabilitative Care and Research in the Houston area. She also serves as a Certified Life Care Planner and Expert Witness in conjunction with Physician Life Care Planning LLC based in San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Iversen is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, American Osteopathic College of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Academy of Academic Physiatrists as well as other medical organizations. She has contributed as an author to several publications within the rehabilitation world and continues to expand her level of knowledge on a constant basis.
She has interests in Health and Wellness, Fitness and Exercise, Nutrition, Prevention, Geriatrics, Research and Functional Medicine.
She enjoys spending time with her family, exercising and traveling.
